The Milford Schools Foundation is proud to be an active part of the Milford community, committed to enhancing educational experiences and supporting the learning and development of all students. If you have a project or initiative that would benefit your classroom or school, we invite you to submit a grant application for consideration.
What We Fund
The Milford Schools Foundation provides financial support for grant requests that align with the academic programs, services, and capital improvement efforts of the Milford Exempted Village School District.
Last school year, Milford Schools Foundation was able to fund over $34,000 in grants to support the students and faculty of the Milford School District. It was a very successful year.
Grants may be awarded for projects in a wide range of areas, including:
- Core academic subjects
- The arts and music
- Technology integration
- Athletics and wellness
- Special education
- Emergency assistance
- High-impact, innovative initiatives.
Milford Schools Foundation supports Junior High student led suicide prevention program, Sources of Strength.
Grant Recipient: Where Everybody Belongs Program
The Milford Schools Foundation grant was used 100% to support PBIS initiatives for students at Milford Middle School. The funding helped provide weekly PBIS award winner incentives, school store prizes, quarterly raffle rewards, and Tier 2 PBIS supports for students participating in our Check-In/Check-Out behavior intervention program.
In addition, we used a portion of the grant to incentivize and reward students on attendance improvement plans. We saw incredible value and success from these efforts, with students responding positively to the recognition and encouragement. These students were motivated to attend school not only by the tangible items (Owala water bottles, Milford swag/gear, Lego sets, etc.), but, most importantly, they thrived with one-on-one staff check-ins and accountability.
Overall, MMS is a wonderful place for both students and staff because of the strong PBIS infrastructure and culture built around our core beliefs: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Ready. The grant allowed us to reinforce these expectations daily while celebrating positive behavior and growth.
We cannot thank the Milford Schools Foundation enough for its generosity and continued support. Merging six elementary schools into Milford Middle School has not been an easy task, but the district's core beliefs and the Portrait of an Eagle have truly shined through, creating a 6-8 family. The Foundation's investment has played an important role in helping us build a positive, supportive school culture where all students can thrive.

Milford Schools Foundation Helps to Fund Mulberry PTO Playground Project
The project is still in the stages of being completed. We will follow the project and update when completed.
Dear Members of the Milford Schools Foundation,
I am writing on behalf of the Mulberry Elementary PTO to thank the Milford Schools Foundation for the
generous scholarship donation to the Mulberry PTO playground project. With your financial support, the PTO
was able to begin the first phase of playground equipment updates this summer. To date, the PTO has
purchased two new pieces of equipment through our local partner, Recreations Outlet. The primary
playground will receive a new Grand Cove Play structure which features two slides and climbing elements (see
attached images). The intermediate playground will include the Interstellar Incline Climber, which was voted
on by Mulberry students (attached). Your vital role in the playground project has helped us achieve our goals of
promoting physical activity for all students and ensuring safe, accessible play for all ages. Tentatively, the
equipment should arrive before the end of August. The PTO is also in communication with the Board office
about the addition of an ADA-accessible swing on the intermediate playground during this first phase of
playground updates. We are extremely grateful for your partnership and your shared passion for creating a
safer, more inclusive playground.

Mulberry Elementary PTO
Milford Schools Foundation supports sixth grade math classroom with vertical whiteboards to begin implementing the Building Thinking Classrooms approach.
These whiteboards have transformed the way students engage with mathematics. Rather than working independently at their desks, students collaborate in small groups while standing at the boards to solve problems, explain their thinking, and learn from one another. This has led to richer mathematical discussions, increased student participation, and greater confidence in tackling challenging tasks.
The vertical whiteboards have also allowed me to shift my classroom from one where students simply follow procedures to one where they actively reason, communicate, and persevere through problem-solving. Students are more willing to take risks, revise their thinking, and celebrate mistakes as opportunities to learn.
I am incredibly grateful to the Milford Schools Foundation for investing in innovative classroom resources that have had such a meaningful impact on student learning. Your support has helped create a more collaborative, engaging, and student-centered math classroom where every learner has the opportunity to think deeply and grow as a mathematician. I am excited for the 2026-2027 school year and to continue using these resources.

Milford Schools Foundation supported The Elementary Schools with MusicPlayOnline
Milford Schools Foundation was able to sponsor Music Play Online for the Milford Elementary Schools. Having access to MusicPlay Online thanks to the grant provided by The Milford Schools Foundation was incredibly helpful this past school year! The elementary music teachers in the district were able to utilize this content in a wide variety of ways. MusicPlay Online provides lesson plans, songs for music class and performances, games for students, and tools to help students with reading music, composing music, practicing instruments, and more! It has proven to be an excellent companion to our music curriculum.
While I don't have specific anecdotes about how it was utilized in the other buildings, I can share a few examples of how we used it at Seipelt Elementary. At Seipelt, we used performance songs from MusicPlay Online for our Veterans Day performance and as part of our second grade musical, Awesome Animals. When our fourth grade students were practicing recorder and note reading skills, we used the game Recorder Baseball where students moved around the room to different bases after correctly performing written music on the screen on their recorders. Students in grades 3-5 loved to play 4-Corners games that tested their listening skills to identify instruments and rhythms. My younger students loved playing MusicPlay Online games to review music concepts such as high/low, loud/soft, and fast/slow opposites.
MusicPlay Online has been growing quite a bit, and they offer more and more content over time. The music teachers and students at all of the Milford Elementary buildings have loved having access to this program, and we plan to apply for another year this fall! Milford Schools Foundation,
On behalf of the entire Milford Bands community, I wanted to share my deepest thanks to each and every one of you for your incredible support for our celebration of 100 years of the Milford Band program at Music Hall a few weeks ago.
Recognizing this cornerstone program of our school community as it celebrated its centennial provided an incredible opportunity for us to reflect upon how our bands have impacted our school community over the past ten decades. Through parades, concerts, halftime shows, and various other performances, this band program has, in so many ways, provided the heartbeat to our community. Having the opportunity to recognize the contributions of this program through this historic performance at one of our area's most iconic venues was truly special.
On March 8, nearly 200 students performed on the stage at Cincinnati Music Hall and I deeply believe that the experiences they had that day will last with them for their entire lives. They will tell stories of it to their children and grandchildren.
I wish you could have been present to see the expressions on the students’ faces when they first entered Springer Auditorium. They were in complete awe of the room and for a few of them, I even saw some tears in their eyes. YOU created these memories for each and every student musician on that stage that day. YOU created those lifelong memories they will pass down in the years to come. YOU provided our students a chance to perform on a world class stage.
The opportunity you provided these students was truly a once in a lifetime one. I am so glad so many of you were able to join us on March 8 in person to witness how truly impactful the entire concert was for our students!
I am so proud to work in this school community and have the great fortune of leading our fine and performing arts programs. I am continually inspired by the support the Milford Schools Foundation provides to our students. Your work and support does not go unnoticed.
